F1 2026 Testing Dates

The 2026 season has many surprises, featuring three F1 2026 test sessions. Test one is a private test organized by teams at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. It takes place on January 26–30, but the timing isn’t published, and the test will not be televised.

Test two takes place on February 11–13, followed by Test three on February 18–20. Both tests will be held at the Bahrain International Circuit. The official tests will be televised. Find more on the official website.

This year, fans have a chance to witness a competition between 11 F1 teams. 10 previous teams are joined by Cadillac, with its debut in the motorsport championship. The F1 2026 teams and drivers are as follows:

F1 2026 Regulation Changes

Formula 1 undergoes major changes in 2026, affecting car design, engines, safety standards, and sporting regulations. The new regulations are intended to reshape the current state of the competition for years ahead. Here’s a brief overview of key changes: 

   ? Power units: The MGU-H will be replaced by the much stronger MGU-K, with an increased output from 160 bhp (120 kW) to 470 bhp (350 kW). Power units are required to use 100% sustainable fuel. 

   ? Cars: Reduced wheelbase, width, mass, tyre width, and ground effect, along with a downforce reduction, will result in cars being about two seconds a lap slower. 

   ? Safety: A two-stage front impact structure (FIS), upgraded side protection, increased roll hoop strength, and mandatory lateral safety lights, displaying ERS status on stopped cars. 

   ? Sporting changes: Less exposed carbon with a minimum of 55% of car surfaces covered by painted or stickered liveries. Cooling vests will be mandatory during a heat hazard. 

   ? Other rules: Drivers may change their race numbers. Stewards may initiate a review based on new evidence.
